Worked example: a room of 4 by 3 metres

A bedroom of 4 by 3 metres and 2.5 metres high. The four walls and the ceiling are plastered smooth. This is how you work it out:

In this example, windows and doors have not been deducted. Materials, masking and priming are included; VAT is not. You get the price for your room after the site visit.

What determines your price?

You get the exact price for your job after the site visit. We then look at, among other things:

  • the surface: concrete, plasterboard, old plaster or a wall with old paint or texture;
  • the height: a normal room, or a void and stairwell;
  • whether it is a wall, a ceiling or a sloping attic ceiling;
  • how many m² it is.

And the VAT?

The prices on this website are without VAT. Which VAT rate applies to your home is stated on the quote.

Why we simply state the price

You should know in advance what you will pay. With plastering, that is often not the case.

  • No amount until he is in your home

    Many plasterers only name a price after a visit. Until then you cannot plan or compare anything.

  • Every quote calculates differently

    One charges per m², another per hour or per job. Three quotes side by side then tell you little.

  • What is not included

    Masking, priming or materials are not in the quote, and get added later.

    We come by, look at the walls and ceilings and measure up. Then you get the price, before we start.

    You can paint or wallpaper

    We plaster what is in the quote, paint-ready or wallpaper-ready. Once it is dry, the wall is ready for paint or wallpaper.

What does plastering cost per m²?
Smooth plastering costs €19 to €26 per m², thin-coat plastering costs €11 to €15 per m², cement plastering costs €30 to €56 per m², painting costs €14 to €18 per m². Excluding VAT, including materials. You get the exact price after the site visit.
What does a plasterer cost?
We charge per m². Smooth plastering costs €19 to €26 per m². For a room of 4 by 3 metres, walls and ceiling together 47 m², you will pay between €893 and €1,222, excluding VAT.
What is included in the price per m²?
Smooth plastering: materials, masking and priming. Thin-coat plastering: materials, masking and sanding. Cement plastering: materials, masking and priming. Painting: materials, masking, sanding and painting.
Are the prices including VAT?
No. All prices on this website are excluding VAT. The VAT rate depends on your home; it is stated on the quote.
Why do I only get the exact price after the site visit?
What your job costs exactly depends on what we find at your home and how many m² it is. We only know that once we have measured up. You get the price before we start.
What does ceiling plastering cost per m²?
